One of the most beautiful places in all of Kentucky is the Parklands of Floyds Fork in Jefferson County. The Parklands is home to many species of wildlife, beautiful scenery, and Floyds Fork. The parks are nearly 4,000 acres of protected space. Built alongside the watershed of Floyds Fork, the Parklands stretch throughout much of eastern southeastern Louisville.

Meanwhile, the Parklands of Floyds Fork development has slowly became one of the most ambitious metropolitan area developments in the country. While most people would not expect a park to be such a large development, the end goal here is why it is so ambitious. The goal of the Parklands is to connect multiple parts of Louisville (Middletown, Mount Washington, Jeffersontown). The dream comes from the 21st Century Park, the organization putting the development together. The non-profit organization seeks to establish, develop, and preserve city-shaping parks. These parks serve as infrastructure to the city and help continue to shape the modern cities today. 21st Century Park is responsible for all aspects of development, including: fundraising, land acquisition, construction, and long-term operation and maintenance.
The main park in the Parklands of Floyds Fork is located off Shelbyville Road in east Louisville. The main park is called Beckley Creek Park and it hosts a playground/spray-ground for children, fishing lakes, education welcome center, facilities, picnic areas, and biking/hiking trails. The Parklands of Floyds Fork is a beautiful scenic area where wildlife roams free. This is a must visit for everyone coming to Jeffersontown or the surrounding areas. And if you find yourself here or the surrounding areas, be sure to check out Crumbl Cookies, Taco City, and Xscape.
