Boo At The Zoo

As tradition at the Louisville Zoo, the Boo At The Zoo returns in 2021. The Boo At The Zoo is an annual event that is hosted at the Louisville Zoo for guests of all ages. Starting in October, every Thursday-Sunday the Louisville Zoo will close at 3pm to start the Boo At The Zoo. The event itself starts at 5pm and runs until 10pm on these dates: October 1-3, 7-10, 14-17, 21-24, and 28-30.

The Boo At The Zoo is one of Louisville’s most well-known and popular traditions. Starting over 40 years ago, the Boo At The Zoo creates a storybook for the spooky season. The annual tradition transforms the everyday Louisville Zoo into a live event that features some Halloween season favorites, fun music, and trick-or-treating. Who doesn’t love candy and the Zoo? While the trick-or-treating is for children 11 and under, (sorry parents), the event itself is for all ages.

The Boo At The Zoo features all your favorite parts of the spooky season, without actually trying to spook your children. The annual tradition is designed with children in mind, and provides them with the fun experience of the Zoo and trick-or-treating. And with reduced capacity for the nightly event, parents too can miss out on the nightmare that can be the Zoo traffic. Parking is free at the Zoo for all the guests who would like to attend.

The Boo At The Zoo has many events to offer, including: trick-or-treating, the Spooktacular Carousel, the “Not-So-Itsy-Bitsy” Spider House, and the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hallow experience. All these events are included with the price of admission. Children under 2 years old get in for free, while member tickers are $6, non-member tickers are $12.50, and Meijer anytime tickets are $10.50. All ticket must be purchased ahead of the visit online or at a participating Meijer location.
